Today I have been trying to pull together some ideas for my part of a group project. In my Science for Elementary Teachers class my group has to teach a lesson on five organs in the body to K5 and 1st grade students. My part is the brain. I plan to have for each student a paper doll cutout and the 5 organs pre-cut in a ziplock bag. As I teach my lesson I will recall the previously taught 4 organs and then talk about how our brain tells our body what to do. As we discuss I will have the students glue each organ onto the paper doll in the correct place on the body. This will allow them to hear what the function is of each organ and know where it is in their body. I am excited and hope the kids enjoy the activity. Any suggestions?
